Is Devo concert Cancelled?
Is Devo concert Cancelled?
Devo is an American rock band known for their weird and eclectic style of music. They have been around since the 1970s, and are still going strong. However, their latest tour may be in trouble.
The band’s website says that the remaining dates of their tour are in question, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is due to the fact that many of the band’s upcoming concerts are in Europe, which has been hit particularly hard by the virus.
It’s unclear at this point whether the tour will be cancelled or not. But it’s definitely a possibility, and it’s looking more and more likely as time goes on.
This would be a major blow to the band, as their tour has been doing very well so far. It’s unclear what the future holds for Devo, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Why was Devo show Cancelled?
In December of 2014, the band Devo announced a tour in support of their new album, “Butch Devo and the Sundance Gig.” The tour was set to kick off in January of 2015 and would make stops in over 25 cities. However, in January of 2015, the tour was cancelled with little explanation.
In a statement released by the band, they said “We are sorry to disappoint our fans, but we need to cancel the upcoming tour. We appreciate your understanding.” No further explanation was given for the cancellation.
Fans were left to speculate as to why the tour was cancelled. Some believed that the band had disbanded, while others believed that they had cancelled the tour due to low ticket sales.
However, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh revealed that the tour was cancelled due to his health. “I had to have a surgery on my vocal cords,” he said. “I had a polyp on my vocal cords and I had to have it removed.”
Although the surgery was a success, it left Mothersbaugh unable to tour for the rest of the year. “I’m not allowed to talk for more than an hour a day for the next six months, so there’s no way I could do a tour,” he said.
Mothersbaugh also said that the band is currently working on a new album, which should be released in 2016. “We’re going to start recording in the fall and we should have a record out next year,” he said. “We’re just waiting for the right time to put it out.”
So although the tour has been cancelled, fans can still look forward to new music from Devo in the near future.

Why does Devo wear those hats?
Devo is an American new wave band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1973. The band’s classic line-up consisted of two sets of brothers, the Mothersbaughs (Mark and Bob) and the Casales (Gerald and Bob), along with Alan Myers. The band’s name comes from the concept of devolution, the idea that humans are regressing back to a more simple, primitive state.
Devo is perhaps best known for their quirky, brightly-colored energy dome hats, which the band began wearing in the late 1970s. In an interview with NME, Devo co-founder Gerald Casale explained the reasoning behind the hats:
“We were trying to find a visual way to communicate the concept of devolution. We were all wearing these plastic yellow hats with the cone on top, and we thought, ‘Hey, this is it! We’re going to look like robots or something.’ The hats became a symbol of the band, and we started wearing them onstage.”
The hats quickly became a trademark of the band, and they remain one of the most recognizable elements of Devo’s visual identity to this day. While the hats may seem like a strange fashion choice, they actually make a lot of sense when you consider the band’s overall aesthetic and philosophy.
Devo’s music is heavily influenced by the punk and new wave movements of the 1970s, and their songs are often satirical, ironic, and tongue-in-cheek. They use humor and absurdity as a way of commenting on the world around them, and the hats are a perfect embodiment of this approach. They’re a bit silly, but they also make a statement about the band’s unique worldview.
Ultimately, the hats are just one of the many things that make Devo unique. They’re a band that’s always been willing to experiment and take risks, and their hats are a perfect example of this. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no doubt that they’re one of the most iconic and recognizable bands of the new wave era.
