Will ETSU football be televised?
There is no definitive answer to this question at this time, as it is still uncertain whether or not the ETSU football team will be televised. However, the odds seem to be in favor of the games being televised, as the university has entered into an agreement with the ESPN network.
The ETSU football team finished its first season in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the NCAA in 2016. The season was a successful one, as the team finished with an 8-4 record. However, the games were not televised, as the university did not have an agreement with a television network.
In an effort to change that, the university has entered into an agreement with the ESPN network. Under the agreement, the ESPN network will televise six of the ETSU football team’s games during the 2017 season. The games that will be televised are the team’s home games against Western Carolina on September 9th, The Citadel on October 21st, and Samford on November 4th, and the team’s away games against Chattanooga on September 23rd, Mercer on October 28th, and VMI on November 11th.
While the agreement is a step in the right direction, it is possible that the ETSU football team could still be left off of the televised schedule. That being said, the odds seem to be in favor of the games being televised, as the ESPN network is one of the most well-known and respected networks in the country.
