Loyola University Maryland has a proud basketball tradition that dates back to the 1920s. The Greyhounds have competed in the NCAA Tournament six times and reached the Final Four in 1952.
While Loyola’s games have been televised locally for many years, the Greyhounds have also made their games available on the radio. For the 2018-19 season, all of Loyola’s home and away games will be broadcast on WRBS-FM (95.1 FM) in Baltimore.
The play-by-play announcer for Loyola basketball on radio is Tim Hall, who is in his second season as the voice of the Greyhounds. Hall is a Baltimore native who has been a sports broadcaster for more than 25 years.
Joining Hall in the broadcast booth is analyst and former Loyola head coach Tom Young. Young was the head coach at Loyola from 1985 to 2001, leading the Greyhounds to six NCAA Tournament appearances.
Both Hall and Young are excited to have the opportunity to bring Loyola basketball to the Baltimore community on the radio.
“It is a great opportunity to be able to connect with the Baltimore community and give them a chance to follow the Greyhounds,” Hall said.
“I am excited to be a part of the broadcast team and help promote Loyola basketball,” Young added.
