Who has passed away from Sound of Music?
The Sound of Music is one of the most beloved movies of all time. But even the happiest of movies can be tinged with sadness, as we learned when we recently lost one of its stars.
Charmian Carr, who played Liesl von Trapp in the film, died on September 17th at the age of 73. Carr had been battling a rare form of dementia called lewy body disease in recent years.
Carr’s death came as a shock to many, as she had seemed to be in good health in recent months. She had been active on social media, posting photos and messages about her life and her work.
In a statement, her family said that she “died peacefully…surrounded by her loving family.”
Carr was born in 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. She started her acting career in the early 1960s, and soon after was cast in the role that would make her a household name.
The Sound of Music was released in 1965, and was an instant hit. Carr’s charming performance as the precocious Liesl won her legions of fans, and the movie went on to become one of the most successful ever made.
Carr retired from acting in the late 1970s, and later opened an interior design firm. She remained active in the entertainment industry, however, serving as president of the Board of the Sound of Music Family Austria Chapter.
In recent years, she spoke often about her memories of making the movie and her love for the von Trapp family. “The Sound of Music was my first and only movie,” she said in 2014. “It was my dream come true.”
Carr is survived by her two children, Nicholas and Emily, and four grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by fans of The Sound of Music all over the world.

In the popular 1965 movie “The Sound of Music,” the von Trapp family is portrayed by actors who were relatively young. But how old were the actors who played the von Trapp family in the movie?
The von Trapp family was portrayed by actors who were between the ages of 18 and 22. The oldest actor was Charmian Carr, who was 22 at the time that the movie was filmed. The youngest actor was Angela Cartwright, who was 18.
The von Trapp family was based on a real family, and the real von Trapp family was actually quite a bit older than the actors who played them in the movie. So the actors who played the von Trapp family in the movie were actually quite a bit younger than the members of the real von Trapp family.

Did the von Trapps family lose all their money?
The von Trapps were a family of musicians who gained fame after appearing in the 1965 film “The Sound of Music.” However, some reports have suggested that the family lost all their money after the death of their father in 1947.
Leopold von Trapp, the family patriarch, had served in the Austro-Hungarian Navy during World War I. After the war, he moved to the United States and started a chicken farm in Stowe, Vermont. Leopold and his wife, Agathe Whitehead von Trapp, had seven children: Rupert, Maria, Agathe, Werner, Hedwig, Johanna, and Martina.
In 1937, the von Trapps traveled to London to perform a series of concerts. While they were in England, the Anschluss occurred – the Nazi annexation of Austria. Leopold was opposed to the Nazi regime, and he decided to move his family to the United States to escape the threat of persecution.
The von Trapps settled in Vermont, and Leopold started a new business, a ski lodge. However, the business failed during the Great Depression, and the family moved to Philadelphia in 1941. Leopold then started a new business, this time a tour company that took people on trips to the Catskill Mountains.
The von Trapps’ tour business was successful, and they eventually moved to Stowe, Vermont. However, the death of Leopold in 1947 left the family in financial trouble. They were forced to sell the ski lodge and the tour company, and they eventually moved to Austria.
It is true that the von Trapps lost their money after the death of their father. However, they did not lose all their money – they were able to keep their home in Austria. The family’s financial troubles were a result of the death of their father, not of any financial mismanagement on their part.
