If you’re a fan of Texas Tech baseball, then you’ll want to make sure you have a radio handy during the upcoming season. That’s because the Red Raiders’ games will be available on the airwaves this year.
Texas Tech announced last week that it has reached an agreement with Texas Tech Sports Properties to air all of the Red Raiders’ baseball games live on the radio. The games will be broadcast on various stations throughout the state of Texas, including KFYO 790AM in Lubbock and KLBJ 590AM in Austin.
“We are excited to partner with Texas Tech Sports Properties to bring Red Raider baseball to fans throughout the state of Texas,” Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. “This agreement will give our fans the opportunity to listen to every game live on the radio.”
The agreement with Texas Tech Sports Properties means that the Red Raiders will have one of the most comprehensive radio networks in the country. In addition to the stations in Lubbock and Austin, the games will also be aired on stations in Dallas, El Paso, Midland-Odessa, San Angelo and Waco.
“This is an important agreement for Texas Tech Baseball and our fans,” Texas Tech Head Coach Tim Tadlock said. “To have our games broadcast on such a comprehensive network of stations throughout the state of Texas is a great benefit for our program.”
The agreement with Texas Tech Sports Properties is a two-year deal, and the Red Raiders are scheduled to have 54 games broadcast on the radio this season.
