As of the census of 2000, there were 10,719 people, 4,142 households, and 3,142 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 731.7 people per square mile (282.7/km²). There were 4,601 housing units at an average density of 314.9/sq mi (121.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.92% White, 0.22% African American, 0.22% Native American, 1.43% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.51% from other races, and 1.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.92% of the population.
There were 4,142 households out of which 36.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.7% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.8% were non-families. 16.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.07.
In the CDP, the population was spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 30.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
